She on her bike and me on the trike (yikes!)
We "race" down the drive way, but unlike an actual race, neither of us is concerned with getting to the bottom first.
Because our driveway slopes downward, it creates a ramp of sorts. So, one push from the top and you're clear to coast all the way to the bottom.
Hubby snapped the shots above and then it was time to go in for supper. I promised another race the next day, which Peach did not forget about.
Hubby was gone and Tulip was napping, so I headed out to make good on my promise and get some much-needed exercise.
Peach helped me in that endeavor by adding rocks to her bike's trunk.
We rolled down that hill at least 30 times. Which means that I lugged both bikes back up to the top at least that many times as well. But the laughter was worth it.
My little hippie...
She picked out this outfit, which consisted of the new headband that I made her and a necklace that she found at a garage sale.
Every time I see it on her, I think of Proverbs 6:
"...keep your father’s command
and do not forsake your mother’s teaching.
Bind them always on your heart;
fasten them around your neck.
When you walk, they will guide you;
when you sleep, they will watch over you;
when you awake, they will speak to you."
and do not forsake your mother’s teaching.
Bind them always on your heart;
fasten them around your neck.
When you walk, they will guide you;
when you sleep, they will watch over you;
when you awake, they will speak to you."
Give us the wisdom to guide her, Lord.
At the top of the hill, she would shout something random like, "It's time for a celebwation!" or "Can anybody hear us?!" Whatever the exclamation, that was my cue to lift my feet up and go.
The breathless laughter every time we crashed into each other at the end was the very best part. She's goofy and I'm happy to be a part of that silliness.
Hope she asks to race me again tomorrow.
