bedtime

Its my favorite time of day...bed time.

There is something so sweet about:

 Washing off the day in the tub in an effort to provide a clean slate for tomorrow's adventures

The tickle monster's appearance while drying off

Putting on fresh jammies

Reading stories while snuggling and the aroma of Burt's Bees shampoo still lingering in the background

Talking to Jesus while cheek to cheek

Tucking in the covers and kissing their sleepy eyes

Turning off all the lights but one.....

What is it about a sleeping baby that is just....so....peaceful ?

And every night, as I lay them down, I whisper this:  

Of all the girls in the whole wide world, I'm so glad that God gave me you.

And I really do mean that.

Before I lay my head down, I pray that tomorrow will bring another chance to communicate that love to them all over again.

And to quote one of my favorite bed time stories:

Good night, Peach....

Good night, Tulip....

Good night, J.

Good night stars.

Good night air.

Good night noises everywhere...
