One of Peach's favorite games is "I Spy"
which she actually calls "I Pie"...:)
She loves it when I save old toilet paper or paper towel tubes for her.
She searches all over the house for random items saying, "I pie something blue..." and then I have to guess what it is.
So, I thought this little craft would be right up her alley.
Treasure hunt games
Great for the car
All you need is some salt, a few empty (and dry) plastic bottles with caps and some random junk
Fill bottle about two thirds with salt.
The more salt you put in, the harder it will be to find all the objects.
We used a wide assortment of items including, but not limited to:
letter beads
erasers
pom poms
fake money
googley eyes
silk flowers
paper clips
safety pins
buttons
gems
pennies
jewels
bird seed can substitute for salt if you run out :)
it also makes things a bit more challenging for bigger kiddos
When you've got your bottles full, use hot glue to secure the caps, shake vigorously to hide the prizes and have fun hunting for treasures.
We kept one for the car and are giving the rest away to friends and family.
The kids we are sharing with are all pretty little, but another variation for older kids (who can read) is to include a list of all the treasures so they can check off the list to see if they can find them all.
Another fun twist is to have children write down all the treasures they find.
Fun, inexpensive and easy...that's how we roll!
family members are getting them??? ooooo!!! can she find the items in her ornament this year? i should have used salt instead of snow. i bet that would work better??
