the facts

These are the facts about weekends and they are undisputed:

#1.  Waking up at 6:05 am on Saturday after a full work week is not desirable

#2.  Waking up at 6:05 am on Saturday to this face makes the fact that you're up before the sun much easier to tolerate

she's really into smiling so big that her cheeks cover her eyes
i dig it

#3.  Playing Candy Land with a cup of steamin' hot coffee as the sun peeks through the clouds on a cold and (finally!) snowy January morning helps the cloud of fatigue magically melt away

#4.  The person who invented water color books with the paint right on the page is a genius.  This person knows that tired mommas need fun things fast.  Looking for paper, paint, a cup, paintbrush and water during the early morning weekend fog of sleepiness just won't do.  Put it all on one page and give yourself the best invention of the year award.

#5.  Staying in your pajamas until noon is an excellent idea.

#5.  Silly Putty never goes out of style.  Ever.  It is just as simple and silly as it was 30 years ago.  Guaranteed to put a smile in your weekend.

#6.  Chubby legs stuffed into leg warmers are downright delicious.  Don't know what it has to do with weekends, but it is a fact.  Case closed.

#7.  It is wise to carry at least 4 chapsticks in your purse at all times.  And when you are not allowed to bring your purse to daycare, it is essential that you have it at all times throughout the weekend.

#8.  When a 3-year-old presses her warm little nose up against a cold window and blows hot air to make "smooches for the snow", it no longer matters that you've been up since 6:05.  All is well.

No matter what time you peel yourself out of bed, weekends are wonderful.
I rest my case.
