I know I've mentioned it before, but honestly...is this weather for real?
We live in Minnesota. And we choose to live here.
Because we like snow.
Ugh. This winter's snowfall totals have been a major disappointment to me and any other snow-lovin' crazies out there.
No joke...I took this picture on Feb. 6th.
Not a speck of snow to be found.
So, what's a girl to do on a 44 degree day in Minnesota in February with two kids and not one flake anywhere in the tri-county area?
Bundle up and head to the park, I guess.
I've come to terms with the fact that this winter is not going to deliver me the mounds of white fluffiness that I'm used to.
So, a brisk walk to the snow-less park is how we're choosing to see the glass as half-full.
I'll admit...it was absolutely divine to see my girls playing together at the park. Thought I'd have to wait until spring for that.
But, I guess mother nature wanted me to have that gift a few months early.
Our summer trips to the park involved Peach playing and Tulip watching from the safety of my arms.
Today...she joined in and I drank up every drop of watching her experience the park in a whole new way.
Wasn't long before Peach kicked her boots off.
Okay, kiddo - it is warm, but not that warm!
goofy girl...
The laughter was contagious...
pretty soon I had forgotten about the whole "woe is me, there's no snow to play in" drama that I'd been sulking in
"c'mon, guys!"
It lasted just long enough.
As the sun was taking its final bow and retreating from the stage, we got Tulip in the wagon.
Peach decided to run home, her little legs taking three strides to my one. Clumsy boots and a hat that kept falling over her eyes didn't stop her. Maybe she'll join me in checking "run a marathon" off my bucket list someday.
We were welcomed home by the smell of cheesy turkey deliciousness coming from the crock pot and fresh-baked buns.
Snuggled up in our kitchen, we gave thanks, chatted over our days and closed the day with baths, Candy Land and stories.
Now....what was I complaining about?
Oh, yes. 44 degrees in February.
I guess it could be worse. :)
