This girl is lots of things....
sweet
social
dramatic
outgoing
creative
And this past month she added "funny" to her 3-year-old resume
I catch myself laughing right out loud at her expressions
and then run to write it down so i won't forget.
Actually, momma....
Unbelievable! (pretty sure she learned this one from J)
Are you serious?
For real!
The other day she told me that she was going to put her stickers in her back pack for "safekeeping" (which is her little Peach way of saying that the whole Tulip becoming mobile thing is starting to irritate her)
Whenever anything even mildly odd or surprising happens, her immediate response is "What in the world?!"
I'm regularly being asked "Sound like a plan, Momma?"
The other night at supper she asked, "Daddy, why are lemons so puckerish?" Leave it to her to use a made-up 9 letter word when the simple 4 letter "sour" would suffice.
While getting ready one morning, she peeked around the door with a sweet smile and said, "Momma, you are so posh!" Thanks to Fancy Nancy for that one.
And we are guaranteed to get a report each morning of how "The sun waked up and so did I."
Needless to say, J and I are being very careful about what we say these days.
She's a gem.
And what she has to say is important.
Whether it is funny or serious or dramatic...
every word is shaping who she is.
God's word tells us that "From the overflow of the heart, the mouth speaks." Luke 6:45
I hope she grows into a woman
who knows that words are powerful
who fills her heart up with good things so that when they overflow, they bring healing and truth and joy.
I pray that she lives a life in which
...words are chosen with care
...wisdom guides speech
...thinking happens before speaking
And above all, I want her to know that her words are
Important. Valuable. Powerful.
May her speech always be a reflection of Your Joy in her Lord. Amen
