summer fun list

Now that summer has officially arrived at the Wacek household, J and I thought it appropriate to make our annual summer fun list.

We know all too well how fast these fleeting summer weeks fly by and we've got plans to squeeze every last drop out of this delicious time with our girls.

So, without further ado - here's the 2012 summer bucket list:

1.  enter our library's summer reading program

2.  make giant bubbles

3.  spend an afternoon at Cedar Lake Regional Park

4.  spend an afternoon at Cleary Lake Regional Park

5.  go to the Saturday Art Walk in Northfield (we love it there!)

6.  check out Murphy-Hanreham Park Reserve

7.  check out the Landing

8.  spend an afternoon at Ney Nature Center

9.  invite the neighbors over for supper

10. try out the local gymnastics center

11. fly a kite

12. go to the Redwood Pool (one of our highlights from last summer!)

13. go to the Children's Museum

14. ride a horse

15. figure out a way to get some birds to our house
(there are some cardinals living in our tree out front - we've got to find a way to lure them to the window so we can watch them!)

16. pick strawberries

17. learn to make jam

18. visit a CSA farm - thinking about getting a weekly box next year

19. set up the tent on the deck and "pretend camp"

20. have fro yo at the new Yogurt Haus in town

21. go to the new Fairy Tale Endings (my favorite kids' consignment shop - new location!)

22. find as many farmers markets as possible - the MN Grown magazine will be a constant companion

23. send monthly letters to our Compassion kids (and a love package, too!)

24.  go to edinborough climbing park and hope that we can get baby monkey (also known as Tulip) to leave at some point.  :)

25.  celebrate J's 30th birthday in style

26.  visit great-great grandma avis

27.  do a gratitude journal with Peach

28.  visit the University of MN Arboretum

It's a tall order.  Especially when you add a few random home improvements in there as well.  We'll see what we can accomplish in the next 10 weeks.
Carpe diem, baby! :)
