sleep walking

Last Friday, Peach was in the mood for ice cream.  I'm always game for that.  So, after supper, we settled in for a ride up to our favorite coffee shop, which also just happens to have an ice cream counter.

Our desperate-for-attention pooch was bubbling over with excitement at the prospect of a walk.

The coffee shop is just blocks from our home, but upon arriving there, Hubby and I discovered this:

It was 6:00 pm when we got there.  I guess a long day of playing with your buddies will do that to you!

Anyway, I was content to leave with this:

There is something that feels so right about drinking hot apple cider in October.

The weight of a sleeping child is just so lovely.
That trust that they place in you to get them safely to their resting spot...it does a heart good.

We put our little love monkeys to bed and enjoyed an evening of ice cream all to ourselves and re-runs of our favorite shows.  This doesn't happen very often these days.  It felt good to snuggle with Hubby on the couch, just like when we were first married and had time for things like that.

Maybe next time, girls....maybe next time.
