each year, our church does an easter egg hunt for the shorties...
last year we missed it.
but this year, we cleared the morning for searching through hay bales for plastic eggs...preferably purple plastic eggs.
Peach traipsed around the straw-filled parking lot, searching for brightly colored eggs to fill her basket and then traded them in for a bag of goodies before heading in for cookies and worship.
Tulip hung out with some wonderful mommas on the sidelines...them oohing and ahhing over her big eyes.
Her smiling like it was her job.
Me beaming.
Because it does a heart good to hear that your baby is beautiful.
I'm so glad we belong to a community of faith like this one.
Our children are learning that Jesus is in all the things that they love...including plastic purple eggs. :)
The hunt for eggs was really more about a hunt for community and faith and God...the things that everybody is searching for.
At this church, we found those things. A big God. A cozy little family. And an ocean of faith big enough to float us along when we feel like we're sinking.
Celebrating Easter here was a deep down, full-to-the-brim, can't-get-enough blessing.
Easter 2012...from crafts to eggs to baking and hunting, it was well-celebrated at our house.
Amen.
Me too, Krog. The Body of Christ. Glory be to GOD.
