oh how i love a day that starts ho-hum and turns out stellar...
like one of those fireworks that shoots off and looks like it might fizzle but then turns out to be one of the best ones of the night.
after what seemed like a week-long stretch of oppressive heat and lots of playing indoors, we were blessed with a perfect day to be outside
i dialed up my girl, Jen and wondered if she and her hubs would be interested in a picnic/park day.
20 minutes later I had the fruit, veggies and cheese sticks packed and they were in our driveway with the sandwiches and dessert
after filling our bellies, we spent the rest of the afternoon going up chutes and coming down ladders
Poor Peach! We lathered her up with sunscreen, but she turns bright red when she sweats.
She got that from her momma.

and then, of course, there were the biggest kids at the park :)
what a stud.....
we finished it off with the splash pad
both of them soaking wet and peach's shirt unbuttoned all the way....
it was a good thing I had some extra clothes in the diaper bag.
here's to the kind of friends who go with the flow and drop everything to spend the day together.
